Extruded PVC wire
Extruded PVC wire is a type of wire that is often used in fencing, and is used to weave chain link mesh or diamond mesh. It can also be used to manufacture PVC coated barbed wire.
Mesh and wire manufacturers make extruded PVC wire by passing galvanized core wire through special machines that melt PVC pellets and then deposit the melted plastic on the surface of the wire in a thin, even layer.
This layer is opaque, and can be many different colors, which is how we make many types of PVC coated mesh and wire products. PVC is also usually UV resistant, so it doesn't fade or crack as easily, and it retains some flexibility even when set, which is why you can still bend PVC wire after it's been coated in PVC.
