Stays
Stays are usually diagonal bracing posts that are attached to tension posts at an angle, and embedded in concrete to provide extra support to the fence posts.
They can be ordinary diagonal stays, installed in each direction of strain on each end, corner and gate post, or they can be back stays, which are installed behind fences that are routinely subjected to high winds or other types of forces, to help the fence stay plumb and level.
