Tie wire is used in most kinds of mesh fencing, but is slightly different depending on where the fence is installed.
In North America, tie wires are preformed into a hook shape that is twisted around posts and top rails to keep mesh in place.
In South Africa and some other places, tie wire is 1.6mm wire that is cut into sections and twisted into "pig tails" around mesh and straining wire.
