Cane bolt
A cane bolt, also known as a drop bolt or gatekeep, is usually made of metal, and it is bent into a shape that resembles a cane or walking stick - hence the name. '
It is usually attached to the bottom center of double-leaf gates to allow one or both to be held in place when needed. It usually drops into a small section of pipe cast into concrete.
Cane bolts can be installed with welded steel tabs, or they can be bolted or even attached to gate frames with screws. They are also used on many different types of fence, including chain link fences, welded mesh fences, high-security fences and gates, wood fences, palisade fences, and more.
