Flat back / wall mount gate hinges
Flat back gate hinges, also known as wall mount gate hinges are a special type of hinge that allows you to install a chain link gate on a wall, wooden fence post and other flat surfaces.
Unlike traditional bolt on chain link gate hinges that have a round bracket to attach them to a round gate post, flat back gate hinges or wall mount gate hinges have a hinge pin that is attached to a flat plate with two or more pre drilled holes.
Those holes allow you to attach what would be the gate post hinge to a wall or wooden fence post using wedge anchors, lag bolts or another type of appropriate fastener for the material or structure.
Add a gate frame hinge that fits the hinge pin on your flat back hinge or wall mount hinge, bolt in place on your gate, and you've hung a gate off a wall or wood fence post.
Remember that like any other type of pin hinge, gates can be lifted off flat back gate hinges or wall mount gate hinges, so be sure to install one up and one down for added security.
